Escuela Adelante is a non-profit organization that receives no government funding. Your contribution helps keep our programs affordable to all. Escuela Adelante is registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. Your contribution of funds or in-kind donations are put 100% towards providing services for the families of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.

For only $25 a month, you can provide a child with the gift of education. Our afternoon programs are only $25/mo, but even that is out of reach for many families.
For $50 a month, you can provide tuition relief to a preschool or primary student – offering exciting and enriching full day education to one student.

Volunteers
Volunteers are an essential part of our programming. The cultural and language exchange from volunteer visits is a great opportunity for our students to work on their English.

Where your donation will go
Capital Campaign
Before we can teach, we need a fantastic facility– one that is easy commuting distance from San Juan, that offers room to grow a campus with classrooms, library, laboratory and art space, with access to outdoor environments for learning about agriculture, building and mechanical trades. With a new facility, we could expand classes to each child on our long and growing waitlist, expand offerings for students who finish Programa Destino, and create a language center where our English and Spanish speakers could interact.
Scholarship Fund
The average Nicaraguan income is about 200 USD per month – in many families, only one parent’s income sustains a household of children, parents and grandparents. To offer real opportunity, Escuela Adelante needs a generous scholarship fund to supplement local tuitiion resources. Your contribution of $25 a month funds Programa Destino for one child. Operations Fund
In order to run our school at the highest standards, we provide each child with a personal textbook, and we fill our classrooms with books, flash cards, learning games and art supplies. We also provide computing equipment, scientific models and microscopes. We hire highly qualified, experienced teachers and we pay them at a livable wage that surpasses the typically low Nicaraguan teachers’ salary. This commitment to excellence and equity requires an Operations budget that is about 10% of our annual budget. Please help us continue to foster engaged and active learning.
